Questions about kitchen fitting

Practical answers to help you plan the next step.

Can you fit a kitchen as part of an extension?

Yes, where kitchen fitting is included in the agreed extension scope. Cameron coordinates the new room and its preparation with the kitchen installation. Share the kitchen design early so it can be considered alongside openings, floor levels and the building programme. The quote should state what is included and which products or services you are arranging through your supplier.

Should I choose the kitchen before the building work?

Having a developed kitchen layout early helps the building team coordinate the room around it. Some measurements may need checking once the space is formed. Speak to Cameron and your supplier about what must be decided before work begins and what can be finalised later. Changes to units, appliances or the layout should be shared before they affect completed preparation.

Can you work with my chosen kitchen supplier?

Bring the supplier’s drawings, specification and delivery information to the site visit. Cameron can discuss how the fitting and preparation fit into the larger building scope. It is important to agree who supplies each item, who checks final dimensions and how any supplier changes are communicated. This gives both the building team and the kitchen supplier a clear basis to work from.

Can a kitchen renovation include removing a wall?

It can, where the proposed design and structure allow. Any structural requirements need to be established by the appropriate professional and included in the building information. Cameron coordinates the agreed alteration with the kitchen preparation and fitting. Discuss the whole room at the site visit, so the quote accounts for the building work as well as the units and finishes.

Who coordinates the trades on site?

Cameron is your project manager and point of contact. He coordinates the relevant trades for this stage of the work and the building stages around it. You can speak to him by phone, email or WhatsApp. If a decision or delay affects progress, he explains the position and the next step, and checks the agreed work through to handover.

How is the work quoted?

Book a site visit and tell us about the larger project and the work you need. Send the property postcode and any available drawings. Cameron will confirm the visit, review the site and discuss the work and finish to include. Your quote relates to that agreed scope; any variations in work, cost or timing are discussed before proceeding.

What should we agree before this work starts?

Kitchen drawings need to reflect the room that is being built. Changes to the layout or specification can affect preparation, delivery and fitting, so share updated information before those stages proceed. Cameron discusses what is included in the building quote and what you are arranging with your kitchen supplier. The responsibilities and handover condition are agreed together, including any work needed before the fitters arrive.
