Your project, personally managed by Cameron

Cameron is a time-served bricklayer with 13 years of experience. He coordinates the right trades for the job and stays involved from your first site visit through to the final checks on the agreed work.

You can speak to him directly by phone, email or WhatsApp. He keeps you informed about progress, explains delays and takes pride in a neat, tidy site.

I've brought Cam in to do a few jobs over the years: the patio at the rugby club, some pointing on the house, and some help repairing a brick wall. He shows up on time, cleans up after himself, and doesn't mess about. Highly recommend!

Questions about driveways & patios

Practical answers to help you plan the next step.

Can a patio be included with my extension?

Yes, where it is included in the agreed project scope. Planning the patio with the extension helps coordinate the doors, thresholds, drainage and finished levels. Tell Cameron how you want to use the space and which materials you are considering. He can then review the outdoor work alongside the building, rather than leaving the connection between them unresolved.

When should driveway and patio work be planned?

Discuss it at the initial visit, even if the surface will be completed later. Access for the building work, storage of materials and the movement of other trades can affect the sequence. Cameron can include these practical requirements in the programme and agree when the final external finish should take place, so it fits around the larger project.

Can you help coordinate drainage and levels?

Yes. Those details need to be considered within the external works and the building design. The appropriate approach depends on the property and the proposed surface, and additional design or approval may be needed. Cameron reviews the intended work and coordinates the relevant trades. The agreed scope should record the preparation and drainage work, rather than describe the visible surface alone.

Which surface should I choose?

The choice depends on how the area will be used, the appearance you want and the requirements of the site. Discuss the intended use, access and material preferences with Cameron at the visit. The quote can then be prepared around an agreed specification, including the work beneath and around the surface. Samples and supplier details help make that decision concrete.

Who coordinates the trades on site?

Cameron is your project manager and point of contact. He coordinates the relevant trades for this stage of the work and the building stages around it. You can speak to him by phone, email or WhatsApp. If a decision or delay affects progress, he explains the position and the next step, and checks the agreed work through to handover.

How is the work quoted?

Book a site visit and tell us about the larger project and the work you need. Send the property postcode and any available drawings. Cameron will confirm the visit, review the site and discuss the work and finish to include. Your quote relates to that agreed scope; any variations in work, cost or timing are discussed before proceeding.

What should we agree before this work starts?

Door thresholds, drainage and the relationship to the surrounding ground need to be resolved before the paving stage. The selected finish should follow that plan. Discuss the outdoor work at the start of the building project. Cameron can then consider access for earlier trades and the point at which the final surfaces should be completed.
