Questions about general building services
Practical answers to help you plan the next step.
How do the general building services fit together?
Groundworks prepare the site and base. Brickwork, carpentry, roofing and steelwork form and protect the structure. Plastering, rendering and kitchen fitting complete the relevant finishes, while driveways and patios connect the house to its surroundings. Your project will need a particular combination. Cameron coordinates that combination around the drawings, the programme and the handover point you agree.
Should I choose a trade or a house-building project?
If you are planning an extension, new house, renovation or garage conversion, start with that project page. It explains the whole build and how it is managed. The trade pages add detail about individual stages. You can mention any particular trade requirement when booking your site visit, so Cameron can see how it fits into the work you want done.
Does the same team carry out every trade?
Cameron coordinates the appropriate tradespeople for the work. He is a time-served bricklayer with 13 years of experience, but the service is not based on one crew performing every discipline. His role is to manage how the trades come together, keep you informed and check the agreed work through to handover. You have a named person to speak to throughout.
Can some of the finishing work be left to me?
Yes, where that is agreed as part of the project scope. For larger builds, possible handover points include wall plate, plaster finish or the final paint finish. Tell Cameron what you want to organise yourself before the quote is prepared. The work included, the handover condition and responsibility for the remaining stages are then recorded clearly.
How are the trades priced?
The quote relates to your project and the work Cameron has agreed to manage. Book a site visit so he can assess the property, review any drawings and discuss the finish you need. This lets the quote reflect how the stages connect. If additional work or a change of specification is needed, the cost and timing are agreed with you before proceeding.
What should I send before the site visit?
Provide the property postcode, a short description of the larger project and any relevant drawings or photographs. Mention the trades or stages you are particularly concerned about, and whether you want us to complete the whole build or hand over earlier. Cameron will confirm the visit and can explain which further information is needed before preparing a project quote.
What should we agree before this work starts?
Use these pages to understand the work that may form part of your project. The House Building Services pages bring those trades together around the space you want to create. Cameron remains your point of contact across the agreed scope. He discusses decisions, keeps you informed about progress and explains any changes that affect the next stage.
